Isaac was born through Sarah and Ishmael through Hagar. These two mothers and their sons represent two covenants. One of promise by faith and the other of the flesh through unbelief.

Those who have been through difficult circumstances and known the comfort of the Lord can then offer sympathy and comfort to others who are hurting.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Those who are born of God are led by the Spirit of God and gradually grow in faith and trust less in their own resources.
"In faithfulness Thou hast afflicted me oh Lord." The Lord's mercies are new every morning and great in His faithfulness towrads His people.
Jesus warns us to beware of the leaven on the pharisees, which is hypocrisy, getting in our hearts. Let's remain open before the Lord and desire to please Him only and not men.
When we get a revelation of the Person of Jesus Christ we will become more like Him and love mercy and compassion and not fault find others.
Christ's baptism calls us to to die to our own will that we may also know the resurrection life of Jesus Christ.
