Peter, James, and John went fishing when they lost heart. When their nets were empty Jesus showed them kindness and at His word their nets were filled. Then He said, "tend My lamb."
The Lord takes very seriously the words we speak. All of Jobs trials revealed something to Job-- that he spoke words without knowledge. Let us be careful with our words that we may be His mouthpiece.
Those who desire to enter the kingdom of God will recognise that their struggle is not against man but against sin. David's was fighting against the enemy of God but his own brothers were more concerned with contending with him.
Jesus gives us the marks of those who will enter through the wide gate and travel the broad road. Many will be deceived, seeking God and looking for signs, not understanding the narrow way and the simple message He gave to Nicodemus.
God is looking for those who are ready for His return and will use those who are faithful, even in the little things.
The sacrifices of God are a broken and contrite heart, these He will not despise. Let us remember our purification of our past sins and continue to groan to be furthered clothed.
Let us perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord. If we are lacking God's wisdom which begins with the fear of the Lord, we need to ask Him and seek after it.
Solomon was able to accomplish so much with his wisdom yet he did not take heed to God's wisdom to preserve his own soul. Let us learn from his example and take heed to God's word continually.
It is good to give thanks to the Lord but our conduct must line up. Let us have grace by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear.
The word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Just like when the Philistines tried to keep the blacksmiths from making swords for the Israelites the devil is working to keep us from the word of God.
