Statement of Faith

  • We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired and infallible word of God.
  • God is one and consists of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (1 Jn. 5:7 NKJV).
  • Jesus is the Word; He existed as God and was with God from the beginning (Jn. 1:1). He was born of a virgin, died on the cross for the sins of the whole world, and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4).  He ascended to heaven and one day will return for His saints.
  • Jesus was made like His brethren in every way and was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin (Heb. 2:17; 4:15).
  • All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). We must repent and believe in Jesus Christ to receive the forgiveness of sins.
  • Justification is by faith in Jesus.  The evidence of genuine faith is good works and the fruits of the Spirit which bring glory to God.
  • We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus (Eph. 2:8). Grace is not a license to sin, but grace teaches us to say no to sin, and live righteously and godly in this present age (Titus 2:11-12; Jude 1:4).
  • Repentance and faith in Jesus Christ is to be followed by baptism in water.
  • Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit who refines and purifies us to make us more like Jesus.  Those who do not pursue the way of sanctification (or holiness) will never see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).
  • It is possible to depart from the living God through an evil heart of unbelief.  The ones who are faithful to the end shall partake of Christ (Heb. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 15:2).
  • There will be a resurrection of the righteous to eternal life, and a resurrection of the unrighteous to eternal judgement. (Jn. 5:29)
  • The leadership of the local church should be in the hands of elders as taught in the New Testament.  Elders must meet the qualifications defined in the scriptures (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1:5-9).
